Obviously depends what they're selling it at; here in Italy, the new 733
debuted at about $1700, with 128MB free RAM (though this special offer's
value has to be weighed against the fact that the 733 has only 3 ram slots,
IIRC). In any case, it is notable that it debuted at the same price as in
the US, which is not usually the case here. The older 733 with DVD-R and 1MB
cache, with 256MB single bank of RAM and 60GB HD, together with the 17"
Cinema Display, is being offered at a special price of about $3100, which is
some $600 less than the 733 sold for when it came out (minus the price of
the Cinema Display). The 17" Cinema Display is being sold for about $900
when purchased with one of the higher end G4's. (All prices using current
exchange rates). Not bad deals at all, and they should also mean that used
Double Processor G4's should be dropping considerably in price, too, and
will offer an attractive alternative if still under warranty.
Right now I'm torn between selling my G4-upgraded Yosemite for a decent
price while I can still get one, or holding onto it and selling it for less
when the prices on high end G4's drops relatively.
