Yes you can !  A modem is a modem , but the trick is to find software
support for the modem . You don't say what you will use to drive it !

If you will be using Apple Remote Access , or PPP, then you will need a
script to put in the Extension Folder ' Modem Scripts ".

Alternately you may be able to use FreePPP.

In Perth Australia I have used Netcomm & Banksia modems, but there are
others available that are sourced from USA.

Be advised that some modems do not have 25 pin connectors !
