Well, my Que firewire CD-RW is officially screwed up. I've trashed Toast prefs (can't trash drive prefs because it doesn't use a driver or anything) and I can't think of much else to do... I mean, I've tried umpteen trillion different CDs, and it's always the same thing - the LED on the front of the drive blinks continuously, and if I try to record a CD Toast gives me the message "Waiting for the Writer..." for over a minute (if I let it go that long), and then it'll eject the CD and say "Please insert a recordable disk!" Once it actually froze my computer and I had to restart. All this trouble started after I got a buffer underrun error a few weeks back when burning a CD. Prior to that, all had been smooth. I posted about this before and people replied saying that it was highly unlikely that such an error could permanently screw up the CD-RW drive itself, but I'm out of ideas. I really need to be able to burn some CDs to back up all my stuff from my G4, since I'm selling it and getting an iBook (Wednesday, no less). Help?
