i assume you have tried a cleaning disk. if you're getting one with a new case, i'd be happy to look at it for you (no charge if i don't have any good "magic") or i'd probably be willing to buy it for the case if that fails. i'm an excellent and very creative tech (IMHO), i've fixed several things inexpensively for people who couldn't get factory service and were rather attached to a particular piece of gear. in any case i've never charged for anything i couldn't fix and haven't had a complaint since my early days in high school (some 20 years ago), and a couple of very happy customers. (i only do it as a hobby anymore, i've got back problems so i'm somewhat erratic time wise, but still sharp when i've had enough sleep and not medicated).
