ouch! that is embarrassing. it's also probably largely due to some of apples recent mistakes in design, not using ddr memory, and more importantly, not providing enough cache on the processor card. only when program and data are in the on chip cache and processor card cache do you get anywhere near the processors capability. apple does have serious ongoing management problems and is still cutting corners in all the wrong places, IMHO.
