Hi John,

        I am not completely sure, but when one of the first USB 2 
boards was announced, it was stated that the board will work only in 
a beige G3 and up.
It had something to do with the revision  of the PCI bus in the older 
PCI Macs, the G3 have a new revision.

As said, I can be wrong
