Greetings Y'all, I have a beige G3 DT, 300mhz, 512MB RAM with OS 9.0.4, and with an Adaptec USB 2 PCI card (actually not yet installed). I am in the market for my first digital camera and wonder, what is compatible with this configuration for consistent reliable downloads of the digital pictures?
In inquiry at online photo shops and supply outlets under the specfications a number of cameras indicate that they interface on Macs with USB port , but then in parenthesis (models with built-in USB port). I am assuming that may mean "not USB PCI card port". Anyone have experience with this? A really neat new Sony digital camera ( Sony MVC-CD400) which has a removable small CD disk recording media specifically says "(models with built-in USB port) and Mac OS 10.0 but not 10.1". Which seems weird, I guess no one has bothered to upgrade the camera software? Any suggestions from successful experience is appreciated.
