really depends on what you do with your mac

the difference is mostly in top end and bottom end speed reg. apps dont
seem any faster but processor intensive apps run smoother/faster
That would include anything by Adobe? What about Office v.X?

I would either buy a G3/450 and bump it to 500 or go with a 400/450 G4 and
bump it up < so far 500 is all a B&W can handle - apple restriction >
I don't DO overclocking. It's not the risk it's the fat I'd make my G3 board warranty void. Mind you 'm guessing fitting a G4 would do that anyway. Naahhh I'd much rather just buy something that is fast and keep the manufacturers warranty on the upgrade.

honestly I didnt see much improvewment between the G3/400 and the G4/400,
but then when bumped to 450 it showed itsself... check xlr8 for others
reports =) not much dif between G3/400 and a G4/400 in speed but there
does seem to be netween a G3/450 and a G4/450
Anyone know any games, other than Quake III and all it's various spin-offs, that use AltiVec? I kow people on here are dreadfully serious and don't play games much but I thought I'd ask...

How the mullets did you get that so cheap? They are 150 new here!
Ebay
God damn. Is it a genuine 'for the Mac' version? I had one in my PC before I got peeved and sold it. It was a god like card - I had a digital add-on board for it with a little break-out for TOSLink and everything. I don't think they have finished the OS X drivers yet though so it'd be less use to me.
