I want to add another complaint about the current versi0on of X. It seems to multitask poorly. I'm spoiled by my Amiga background, since that machine multitasked beautifully since its introduction in 1986. I was pleasantly surprised at how well os 9 seems to handle several Finder tasks at once. IMovie rendering slows but is still useful when pushed to the background.
OSX seems to slow background tasks to a crawl. Especially internet downloads (modem) with native Explorer are almost halted if you do anything else. Not so in 9. Window snap in 9 on my 466 mhz machine, but seem to take moments in X. It's not terrible, just noticeably slower. In Finder, at least, X wants really fast machines.
