HI,
On my Beige G3, you need an alternate
(external/internal) start-up drive with an OS 9
partition. 'Cause when you zap the PRAM, the onboard
Rom Dimm deafaults back to its original Classic
settings. OSX does rewrite some of the Rom Dimm, but
if you reset the Pram, I gather it's wiped out, hence
no boot up.
Cheers
George

=====
"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all
 thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with
 all thy strength, and with all thy mind;
 and thy neighbour as thyself."
 Quoted from St Luke, 10:27.
