I received today my OWC G4 500 ZIF card. Their instructions say: "If you are installing a G4 processor into your Blue & White G3 system, you will need to unlock the ROM to allow the use of a G4 processor."
Once I downloaded the B&W G4 Enabler, I launched it and it started in Classic. The only message I get in the window is: "This program is for the Blue & White G3 only and is not need for this computer." So now I'm confused. Do I need it or not? This is definitely a Blue & White G3 here on my desk. The rest of the instructions seem pretty straightforward and I'm anxious to get started. If anyone can enlighten me I'd really appreciate it.
