I love those little, "Aha!" moments.
I finally tracked down the problem of why B&W G4 Enabler was giving me
the message that my B&W G3 wasn't a B&W G3 in my quest to upgrade the
machine with an OWC G4 500:
You must boot into OS 9.x.
Not Classic and not OS X.
Unfortunately, I have not seen this very crucial bit of information
anywhere on OWC's otherwise fine installation instructions. Only a trek
to and through xlr8yourmac.com eventually resulted in the little gem.
Now I'm just waiting for my Radeon 7000 upgrade.
