I have used Norton Utilities on Macs for years but (1) never
install it and (2) be very careful about using disk doctor to repair
a computer that has problems you don't know the extent of.
Disk doctor works well on computers that are maintained
regularly but when used on a computer that has a lot of software
problems that have built up and compounded over time, disk doctor can
make it worse.
I consider it an excellent tool for my own use because I keep
my computers maintained but I'm very wary when using it on someone
else's computer.
