I'm looking around ebay for a harddrive for a Beige G3 and the tech speech drives me mad. I'm looking for a SCSI-drive, right? Wide? Ultra wide? How many pins? Any other buzzwords to look for?Beige G3's come with ATA/IDE drives as standard as previously mentioned. For most standard applications those are a better bet than SCSI anyway.
The thing about ebay is that a lot of the Mac stuff goes for a bid price that comes pretty close to what you can get it for from a dealer with far less risk.
I saw Radeon 7000 video cards going for more than I saw them at reputable on-line stores.
Similar deals with processor cards. You should always check retail prices before bidding on anything on ebay.
Macintouch.com has a good report on fraudulent Mac sales on ebay. Watch out for people who insist on payment to international addresses through Western Union.
