At this point I figured I'd order a new DIMM from someone else and eat the cost.
Well before I could a new DIMM was delivered from OWC. No notification, nothing. Well I used it but there attitude just makes me unlikely to deal with them again. I've worked with too many good companies who aren't more worried about getting cheated by customers to than in keeping good customers.
I find your report about getting something different returned from OWC of interest. Next time I return anything to anyone I'm going to take some photos of it first along with the packaging and any documentation.

Hey, all:
I would like to know if anyone on this last has had such a horrid experience as I have had with Other World Computing.
Indeed. Your experience mirrored mine, except that my credit card was taken on a wild ride somehow after I made a huge complaint of their dishonest business practice.
What happened was, I send in my original G4/400 CPU board back to OWC for a CPU rebate because I bought a Gigadesigns G4/800 from them earlier. Before I sent my original board back, I noted the serial number of the board itself plus I made several markings using invincible ink which can only be seen under UV light just to be sure that if they reject my board, I am getting back my original.. Anyhow, OWC received the board in good order, tested it for 2 weeks and reported back to me that it was working 100% and that they will issue a rebate credit to my credit card. Days gone by and still no refund for my CPU, I contacted to sales and no one seemed to care to speak to me. I finally emailed online sales with my phone number and one did call me, saying rudely that my original board is NOW dead -- don't bug them anymore type of deal.
Ofcourse stunned and steaming mad, I said that's impossible since they certified it earlier to be 100% working! Suffice to say, they claimed that their returns department made a testing error and that I either had to pay for the DOA board to be shipped back to me or have them junk it.
I certainly didn't want to let the matter go just like that, so I did a goggle search and somehow found that there are others who were also not satisfied with OWC and that the person to have the power to resolve any dispute with OWC is Larry at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Finally after exchanging email with Larry several times, he agreed to ship my CPU board back free of charge and credit something towards future purchases. Wow, finally thinking I got the dispute resolved, I received the CPU board back a week later only to find that it wasn't my original board! The serial number is different and there were no ink markings present under UV light! Worse of all, it is not even a 400Mhz G4, instead it was a 350 reported using Apple System Profiler under OSX and Xbench! The board itself wasn't working right because it would crash my computer intermittently even in X. It never happened to me before with my original CPU board as well as my Gigadesigns.
Steaming mad again, I phoned OWC back this time demanding to speak only with Larry. No dice because as soon as I said who was calling him, the phone was put on hold almost forever and then a sudden click -- no connection. I had tried emailing him several times about this and got no response whatsoever.
I simply gave up with OWC and vowed never to deal with them again.
