Hi Joann,
My beige G3 tower accepts externals at the "drop of a hat" - I'm always
doing what you're attempting with file transfers. Perhaps, since your LaCie
is "ancient", the issue is the HD's driver, which might be too old for your
OS (is it 9.x?)
to recognize, or it's directory is hopelessly corrupted (DiskFit Warror to
the rescue).
Just a thought or two.
