Any chance you have an old ADB keyboard and mouse handy? If so, disconnect everything from the B&W, plug in only the ADB keyboard, with mouse attached, and the power cord. Press the power button on the keyboard. Does the Mac power up? Does the brightness of the Mac's own power button increase?

So I was on the phone with MSN trying to troubleshoot my bad DSL connectivity - the guy suggested I shut down and try resetting the modem. I go to the shutdown menu and off it goes. Power the modem back up and go to turn the computer back on (B&W G3 400) and the power light is still lit (?!?) holding down does nothing. Reset button does nothing. I reach around the back and unplug the power cord and the remains on.
