It is irrelevant how many years you've been doing it this way. Don offered you a much easier way to get your pictures to your computer. Sometimes there are software glitches, and you have to use a workaround until you can get the software problem solved. Your camera uses a Compact Flash Type 1 card. Have you tried the Kodak site for info? They have an interactive troubleshooting area, as well as a FAQ.
