Doug, On your whisper card that is in the G3 now....the microphone that is used with it is an Apple "PlainTalk" microphone. See this link:

It has been mentioned that the last click position as you push the mic into the card is for amplification of the mic. I understand that this mic records stero sound. The "Wings" A/V input with all the bells and whistles has its input for a mic like this as mono sound. If this is wrong please anyone speak up. I don't know that much about the "PlainTalk" mic except what I've read here. I'm wanting to try one in my experiments, and hope Tim comes thru for me. I'll be able to post more data then about how it goes with voice recording.
