Hey what's this stuff I've been seeing about some of the Macs not being
able to recognize or use all of the space on a big internal hard drive?
I've got a G4 733 Quicksilver running 9.2.2, and right now it has two
internal drives, a 60-gig and a 30. I'd like to take out the 30-gig and
replace it with a 160-gig from OWC. But would this Mac be able to see and
use the entire 160 gigs?

Second question: there are two nearly identical Hitachi/IBM ATA 160-gig
drives for sale on the OWC website:
http://eshop.macsales.com/Catalog_Item.cfm?ID=6502&Item=HIT08K0464 and
http://eshop.macsales.com/Catalog_Item.cfm?ID=6243&Item=HIT13G0254. The
first is described as "parallel ATA" for $116, and the other one is "serial
ATA" for $147. What's the difference between the two drives besides price,
and which one would be best for this Mac?

Third and final question: will the 30-gig drive that I remove from this
G-4 fit into an old Performa 6300 that I've got lying around here? If I
remember correctly, the 6300s used some sort of IDE or ATA drive (are those
the same or different?) I notice that the Apple System Profiler identifies
this 30-gig drive as "Internal ATA 2," or maybe that's just the bus it's
on. Anyway I guess it's an ATA type. Can a 6300 use an ATA drive?

TIA,

Tom
