I have a G router now (USR) and a G card in my IBM Thinkpad and it works
both in our bedroom (at one end of the house) and in my shop (the other end
of my home), both at 100.  The router is located almost in the center of the
home.  So I've already tested the distances.  I've been running wireless for
about two years now.

My last router (which was a piece of crap SMC Barricade) had so-so
coverage/signal strength, but the new USR works great.
