I probably won't do it.  It's been up and running for weeks on another drive. 
That 30 gig is slow since it's not on the pci board (three others are, but I
can't figure how to wire the fourth in the MT, they don't reach.)  I'm concerned
that the motherboard bus will slow down the OS.  

Interesting:  My plan was to do a clean install of Panther on a fresh drive. 
But as it turned out, I installed it over a clone of my 10.2.8.  I wasn't sure,
but it turned out fine.  Most of my preferences came through intact and it has
been relatively trouble free.  Why mess with it,

But I'm glad to have the 8 gig limit clarified.
