Yes, a 7,200 RPM drive would be quicker in a Beige G3, but since the system bus is 66 MHz and the PCI bus is 33 Mhz, you'll be limited to a maximum rate of ATA66 (UDMA mode 4) regardless of how fast a card you buy. Unless you're planning on later transferring an ATA133 card & drive to a G4 with a 133Mhz System bus you might as well save some money and buy cheaper ATA66 stuff that will be "matched" to the maximum speed the Beige G3 system can utilize. The System bus speed is the limiting factor, not the card itself. Kris
