Apple didn't spare expenses on this sheet metal from what I can see, 
the
quality of just the bare shell is much higher than most of the complete
PC boxes I've seen.

I think I'll build up a working bare B+W. I'll make a matching steel 
face
insert to cover the optical drives hole, and metal hoop handles ala G5.
A neat project. You'll have to post pictures when you're through.
