Haven't seen an R9200 flashed, nor was I aware of a Mac 9200 card from
which to get a Mac ROM.

Alternate suggestions? I picked up a PC NVidia 64MB GeForce 3 (NOT an MX
version!) for ~US$30 and flashed it for my QS (800mhz, ne 733, 1GB ram,
no L3) and it works great. Dunno what sort of tasks you have in mind
though.

If gaming, a GF3 will probably be faster than your processor anyway
unless you've got a majorly upgraded CPU. My QS/GF3 runs Q3A Demo 1 (@
1152x maxed everything) at ~65fps, not bad for a 3 year old war-horse.

However IMO, the best choice would probably be a GeForce 4 Ti 4600, such
as Apple shipped in BTO QS and MDD G4s. PC GF4 Ti4600 128MB cards these
days go for ~$50 to $100 on eBay. I don't have a GF4Ti Mac ROM, but
there's surely one floating around. For a (very) rough comparison with my
GF3, I ran the exact same Q3A timedemo on a dually 1ghz with a GF4Ti and
saw frame rates ~130fps. Faster processor, L3 cache _and_ a faster GPU
all added up to roughly double the speed.
