As I slowly make the transition from OS-9 to OS-10 (I'm running both 9.2.2 and 10.3.3 in my G-4 Quicksilver), I'm calling up old SimpleText documents into TextEdit and adding data to them, and also creating and using new TextEdit docs.
So, how come whenever I want to save a change to one of these TextEdit docs, the Mac either wants a new name for the document or else just gives me a message "Can't save the document on the drive -----."? What's the matter with this app anyway? Why can't it just save changes with the same name? Anybody else seeing this problem?
TextEdit can view SimpleText files, but can't save in that format. You'll have to "Save As..." all of your SimpleText documents into .txt or .rtf files.
