So is Panther that much more of an improvement on Jaguar?  Took me a fair
bit of time to get Jaguar on mine but if Panther has advantages, I'd give it
a try. 640 megs of memory on a G3/333 is probably ok but is also probably
the bare minimum. What does one gain from moving up?

Brian, please understand that this JMHO, but I have a beige 266 Mhz 
machine running 10.2.6 and a B&W 400 Mhz running 10.3.5 and for all the 
hassle of getting Panther to run on the beige, I would stay with Jag if 
it is running good and stable.  This is not to say that Panther is not 
that much of an improvment, it is, but I know it would not be worth the 
trouble for me and I plan to keep things as they are.  Hope this helps.
