FWIW. I owned a Dual 450 before I got my Dual 2ghz G5. Even with 1.5gb
of RAM, and two 7200rpm 8mb cache HDs running in a RAID 0, it was
roughly the same speed as my wife's iMac 700 with 768mb RAM and a
single 40gb 2mb cache HD. That being said, it was still a great
machine though.

Also, if you run OS9.x, you sacrifice *any* advantage of dual
processors as it is not a DP-aware OS.

In addition, most of the reasonably priced upgrades only give you a
single processor, as the DP G4s have both processors on the same ZIF.
You can buy dual processor upgrades, but they probably aren't a
cost-effective upgrade IMHO.

As for sound cards, there are precious few (if any) sound cards
available, which really doesn't matter, as almost all Macs have
excellent on-board sound.
