Dan,

Didn't think about that either! Still learning X here. Tried launching ImageCapture.. Doing so with the camera plugged in give me the 'no device' message.. Same if I start the program and then plug in the camera.. Checked the connections at both ends of the camera..
I would think the usb port is good, the second port on the card has my trackman plugged into it which is working, and also, when the data cable is plugged into the camera, the read light will come on as well as the initial startup beep that it always does..

You can still set the preferred application to open (e.g. iPhoto) with no device attached (or an unrecognized one).

The System Profiler should still see the camera on the USB bus, although it may not recognize what it is or how to use it.

If you haven't yet browsed versiontracker.com for a software fix, that might be worth a try, too. Otherwise the card/card reader may be your best bet.

   Dan,

Full of really good points today! lol.. Checked Profiler with the camera plugged in and it does not show under the USB Bus, but neither does my trackman, that I'm using right now as we speak... So it looks like I have another issue here..
Interestingly enough though.. I booted into 9.2.2 and popup came up to tell the usb device was not recognized.. blah blah blah.. So in 9 the camera is seen.. I just can't use it.. in X not at all...
