When I switched in 2001 from being a PC user, my first Mac was a G4 867 Quicksilver Tower. It booted up in OS X 10.1 the first time I turned it on and from that point on, I was hooked. On rare occasions, I would boot into OS 9 just to see what it was all about but I never seriously used it.
I know a lot of you still use OS 9 as your main OS but the writing is on the wall....it's time to consider upgrading to OS X. I've been using it for 3+ years and it's great! and never crashes. Sure, occasionally an application will crash but never the OS!
Tim Exterminate all rational thought.
I would have to agree with Tim, though I still use variants of Os 8.1,8.6, 9.2.1 etc on other macs in my house.. But when I upgraded to Jag about 4 months ago, I was really sceptical at first about this new fangled OS.. Not that it's linux based.. I've run variants of just about every major disto out there since the early 90's. But that it was so very diffrent from the mac experiance I was used to...
But now, as I've learned the little quirks of this new OS, and all the great parts about it.. Force Quit without killing the system anyone? Lol.. I love it.. I'm now in the process of saving for a nice used iBook, to replace my ol' 5300ce and 280c. I'm an OS X convert.. Even it if was a few years after the curve for me..
