Hello,
For comparison, at work I have an old Windows 98 laptop that locks up 2 -
3 times a week, an XP machine that has required a forced restart once
since it was bought in October and an old Windows NT box that is my main
programming machine and has blue-screened once in about 4 years.
We have 15 or so PCs at work, and they are routinely restarted at the end of each day to avoid problems. Crashes between scheduled shutdowns are common, 2 to 10 times per week depending on the machine.
I have two G4s running OS X on 24/7 that have crashed a total of 3 times this calendar year... The only times they are shutdown is when the power is out.
We (my wife and I) switched to Macs only 1 year ago. With our PCs, blue screens were a daily occurrence, sometimes two or three times per day.
Needless to say, we are very happy with our Macs!
David
