I'm no photography expert, but I think it's safe to say that inexpensive and mid-range cameras with built-in flashes (really any camera with a built-in flash) do not do well inside. This is true of similar point-and-shoot film cameras too. You end up with grainy pictures and harsh shadows. Megapixels won't make a difference. Save up for a digital SLR if you want high quality indoor photos. I'm very happy with my trusty Canon A40 outdoors, but never very pleased with it indoors. For myself, I won't be buying another camera until I can afford a Digital SLR.
