Are you 'positive' that it has no modem? They all come with a built in modem. When you ordered it did you select the option for no modem? If so, why did you do that? The cost for the modem is $29.00...why not just call the Apple store and get one? I think you'll be a lot happier with Mac's internal modem rather than a USB.
Did you buy this G5 new? Or if you got it 'used' why not call the original owner and ask about it?
