Gigadesigns web site notes that these L3 cache-less (that is they don't
have L3 cache) 7447A based upgrades perform about the same as the older
7455 G4s at 1.467 GHz or something like that. The only advantage they
seem to have is that they use less power, which may or may not be of

approx $1100 to upgrade my box, vs $2500+ to get into a G5 2.0ghz DP
system. I'd love to think I could sell my box to help reduce the cost
of the G5, but I dunno how many people are intrested in a G4 in a
beige box. : )
What I need is for GigaDesigns and Apple to lend me hardware so I can
do a faceoff...
