well some of us are forced to live in the sticks by our wives. one you get outside 1(?) mile of central office you are lucky to get dialup. when we moved out here in 1994 GTE wanted 20. 00 per mile per line for (telephone lines) dialup, that lasted about 30 seconds, i went ballistic. ended up at normal 2 line charges. so at the time i had to use aol @ 6 cents per minute, at least we had 4 screen names. we finally got local isp @19.95 for one screen name, with extra screen names, full rates each. dumped aohell and now also have davisp.com (no local access, i just use email) for 14.95 and 5 screen names.

Of course, if you find anyone on duty with mac experience, they only support os x
still can't get cable or dsl @ 6 miles from town

which brings us back to topic: don't give up looking. questions should be detailed on where you are in relation to city/provider . good luck

They love Macs. They let you do what you want with your bandwidth. They
ENCOURAGE you to run a server. They have dial up numbers all over the US.
They will let you change an email address in less than 3 minutes. They will
let you add static IP's in less than 3 minutes. I have had one period of
SCHEDULED down time in the last year that lasted 3 hours and I was warned
about it weeks in advance. DSL Reports has them as the highest rated ISP in
the nation. And here's my favorite part:

If you *have* to call technical support a polite and roughly 30-35 year old
technically skilled white male living in Seattle answers the phone on the
first ring after the prompt and treats you with respect while IMMEDIATELY
fixing your problem.

(((note about above...I am not a racist or sexist, it just seems to be that
way every time I have had to call technical support)))

I could not be happier with them and will NEVER switch ISP's.

I've got a HUGE problem with the 'white male' line. And I'm one of them. The disclaimer makes up for nothing.

Happy New Year to ALL!
