There are bunch of options out there including the Hollywood Bridge and others
that run about $350.  
There are some usb items that compress the video to MP3 in real time which is
cute and not too expensive.

I have a camcorder (Canon zr40) that has a built in real time analog/digital
converter that works great.  Later models don't have it, so you'd have to shop
around for a model that has.  Some Sony ones do too.  It's a cheap solution for
conversion if you need a digital camcorder anyway, as I did.
