It might be. I took Anna's advice and dropped them into MacLinkPlus. After the file in the window it said Gzip encoded archive.... But all the name says is one word then .jpg... I had previously tried to unstuff it and that didn't work either....
A jpeg is a jpeg is a jpeg...if Graphic Converter can't open it, it's not likely to be a graphic file.

Can't be a Mac/PC thing. Except for executable files, there really *aren't* Mac/PC issues. There are decoder issues, like some .avi files, but not Jpeg's.
It was sent from a pc to a pc and opened for my son on the pc. Sent it to me and it won't open.
Open the file in Textedit, or open a terminal window and do:
more <filename>
It should look like:
<FF><D8><FF><E0>[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Right at the beginning if it's a JPEG file. Look for 'JFIF' in the first line, the rest will be binary garbage. Sometimes you'll see other information, as the EXIF headers come soon after that and you may see other data.
Nothing like that... looks like code.
