DO NOT GO CHEAP ON THE MONITOR!!
Sorry to shout, but the monitor is one of the most important parts of a computer system. It is how you get information from the cpu and what someone is dealing with on a continuing basis. It is also what can give people computer related headaches. I have always felt that it is better to get, for example the 1.25 mini with a 19 or 21" screen rather than the 1.42 mini with a 15" or 17" screen.
That being said, I am still a CRT holdout. While the flat panels look good and take up less desk space, I still prefer the picture from my CRTs. I prefer Sony Trinitron flat CRTs. I have 3 21" (1 at home and 2 at work-1 pc for CAD and a Mac for everything else)
HTH,
