I know that loopholes exist in all OSes and X is by far not immune to
attacks, but how stable or more likely, secure, do you think we really are?

Are there legit concerns for us?


Yes there are concerns, but one must consider that most virus activity is going to be aimed at the most computers, for maximum effect.


As long as us mac-ites stay in the minority, we aren't as tempting to the hackers.

That is not to say there is not malicious software out for macs, just not as much for the win OS,

It is when Linux based systems start being attacked as often as Windows, we need to be more cautious.

They are cousins, and it would not take much to alter the code from Linux to X.

I have run virus scans on my mac and have yet to come up with one.

PCs can even get them from so called "safe" places as OS install disks from the manufactures (HP).
