Yes, the pulled Batt., and across the +/- poles, and the not less than
3.2V was gleaned long ago as a minimal requirement, where anythin'
less is said to be the cause of weird unexplainable voodoo haps.

Sorry Bill, I've got too many irons in the fire with youngest son's
b-ball tourney and my busing of a bunch of'em there and back, but
in essence once the Batt. is pulled, another CUDA quick hit should
delete all holding charges, which will be even deeper than a long
hold hit(and quicker than an overnight wait, too), but not deplete
Batt. as much, therefore believed better in the long run. But, as I
said; the multi-chime PRAM zap may be the clincher on difficult
situations, and on top of that an OF boot/nvram reset(or init reset
on a Beige)/reset all/bye or mac boot may help even further.
Do know that both: www.xlr8yourmac.com and www.macfixit.com
are our good friends to be thoroughly used at most anytime.
Gotta run it's almost gametime. HTHs
