The last I read M$ will be taking a $75 hit per unit .. ($375 to produce ... sell at $300 ) but the new console will be more online based.. downloadable content etc.. The said they will be making money on the xbox by 2007..
Take into consideration nobody makes money the first generation.. The initial Xbox was not suppost to make money.. Its the same principle as a drug dealer.. the first few times on him.. then you pay..!
