PowerPrint is a long term Mac product. I have used it, or it's
predecessors, since 1986 on a MacPlus with a Daisy Wheel printer. It
works fine and I do not remember any problems I have had over the
years as long as the printer was listed as supported, and they list
well over 1000. They do make a USB version.
IIRC, PowerPrint does include the ability to share attached printers
over the network.
Thanks for the info Len, one question I forgot to ask is does the
product support OSX? In all my googling I don't remember seeing that
issue addressed.
According to the site
http://www.strydent.com/support/powerprint-usb-supp.html#11 it only
works under classic, but it does work.
I just remembered that X does not support the serial port, so you will
need to get the USB version.
