Friend of mine wants to do video editing, but he only has an old G3. He
likes the videos that I've been creating with my G4 733 DA using Final
Cut Express, v.3., and wants to know whether it would be better to
ditch his G3 and go looking for something newer, or try to upgrade it.
I asked him what G3 he had, and he gave me the following specs:
G3 300 Mz, 224MB Ram, Disk Cache 7168K, Video memory 6 MB, backside L2
Cache 1MB, two 4-GB hard drives.
Anybody got an opinion on whether this machine can be upgraded to run
OS-X and Final Cut Express, maybe version 1 (I'm running v. 3,
whichrequires at least 733 Mz, and the current version needs a gig.).
