Can anyone tell me exactly what 16x8 (and
32x4) means?

The 16x8 means that it is using 8, 16 megabyte chips for a total of 128 megabytes, and the 32x4 means that the memory stick is using 4, 32 megabyte chips for 128 megabytes.
