I have a B&W G3 running with a 900mhz G3 ZIF upgrade, pretty much everything else has been upgraded as well, but the motherboard seems to have reached it's limit in what it'll support (Radeon 9200 in that slow PCI slot, drives these days are too big for it to read, etc.), so I'd like to upgrade to a G4 tower.
The PowerLogix site says the G3 ZIFs will fit in B&W G3s and Yikes! G4s, and they offer other upgrade options (G4 only) for people with Sawtooth and newer G4s, but is it possible to put the G3 ZIF in a Sawtooth or other early AGP based G4s? Is the slot/power/whatever itself different, or is it just that in general, people wouldn't *want* to put a G3 processor in an AGP based G4? The 900mhz G3 still feels fast enough to me, and I'm sure it's probably faster than the 400-500mhz G4s, so if there's any way I could upgrade to an AGP G4 but use my old processor, I'd like to know.
