Another good free (gratis) alternative to WaMCom now is Opera. I know that Opera has been very good under X, smaller memory footprint, less CPU-bound. I remember older versions of Opera under 9 were more stable than all the alternatives that existed at that point. Try Opera. It might be a good solution. Did I mention it is free-as-in-no-cost?
