Thanks Tyler.

What if I wanted to plug the CPU directly in the motherboard and tweak the MB's jumpers?

Is that possible? Specifically, I'd have a lot of fun getting my Beige G3 to 66/33/533 by the above scheme.

I'd guess it comes to if it is possible or not to remove the CPU from the extra hardware.

Thanks in advance.

It is a PowerLogix ZIF upgrade I got about a year and half ago. It just plugs in and goes. You set the speed on a dip switch on the ZIF upgrade - no touching the logic board jumper settings. Gives a really nice boost to everything.

The powerlogix and other upgrades that go over 533 for the beige have their own multipliers on the board. They run at 66MHz with a 12x multiplier. If you were to put it in your beige, the best you would get is 533 based upon the motherboard jumpers. To go over 533, you do need to use the manufacturers boards with the custom multiplier settings.
