One of our Firewire drives was getting noisy so I decided to swap the mechanism with one of the drives we keep for G4 swaps.

Opening the Firewire enclosure (a LaCie D2) and exchanging drives was simple enough, but the new drive does not show up in System Profiler or Disk Utility.

I looked at the old drive and note that it is an "Enhanced IDE Drive".

What do I need to fill this Firewire enclosure?
