Hi Sean,

I upgraded my B&W with a G4-450 (XLR8 MachSpeed ZIF) and I'm very happy with the results. Though I'm not into heavy duty video or graphics work, I've yet to find anything that bogs Bruce down.

My B&W started life as a garden variety Rev. 1 G3-300 and not a bad machine at that! Since then he's gotten:
Rev. 2 motherboard
G4-450 CPU
1 GB ram
PCI USB 2 card
20 and 60 GB internal drives
40 and 250 GB firewire drives
dual format, double layer DVD burner
19" NEC LCD display
and OS 10.4 Tiger

I would also be interested in upgrading my B&W G3 which is running Tiger - I got the G3 for $100 and have since added 512MB of OWC RAM, a Pioneer DVD-burner and another HDD

I am awaiting the arrival of a SATA card and 250 GB SATA HDD

I use the B&W for doing Photoshop batch processes on large numbers of files so that my main machine (1.33 G4 PowerBook) does not get bogged down doing these tasks

Would a G4 upgrade processor significantly speed up my B&W? Or is the new HDD (and maybe some more RAM) the better option?

Thanks
