Hello to all.
I'd guess that no other group of users know more about AGP issues than
this, with all the swapping between the G4 models and the different slots.
Here is the only place I've read about taping connectors, you freaks! I
humbly ask for help regarding a Windows computer.
The Asus (CUV4X-D) motherboard in this computer indicates AGP Pro 4X and
includes an AGP Pro slot. I'm using it with a lo-end nVidia AGP 4X/8X card.
I am unable to make the pair work at 4X. If I set the BIOS to 4X, it will
report a 2X AGP Bus running at 2X. If I put the BIOS in 2X it reports a 4X
AGP Bus running at 2X. I'll confirm: the OS reports a faster bus when set
to 2X. Latest BIOS, drivers and the such.
No free help is to be found in the Internet regarding this issue.
I don't need the AGP bandwidth, but it nags me that I am not taking
advantage of the full capabilities. I'm sure many here share those feelings.
Many, many thanks in advance.
Ing. Pablo Roufogalis L.
